Woodbine Waterman

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Woodbine Waterman on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the age of 79 of Wareham, NL.

Predeceased by his parents Leah and Jack Waterman, his daughter-in-law Billie-Jo Walker-Waterman, and his sister Elizabeth Wicks (William).

Woodbine leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Eileen; sons Owen (Vera) of Wareham, and Juan (Pamela) of Gander. He was a cherished grandfather to Tristan, Ryan (Chelsey), and Josh (Kendra). His memory will be further treasured by his brothers Claude (Yvonne) of Gander, Johnny (Celeste) of Wareham, Brian (Nina) of Wareham, and Leo (Betty) of Wareham, along with a large circle of other relatives and many friends.

His passion for salmon fishing in Indian Bay Waters and spending summers on Paul’s Island were testaments to his love of nature. Whether picking berries or simply enjoying the outdoors with his beloved wife Eileen, Woodbine found joy in life’s simplest pleasures. Woodbine was a kind and friendly man, deeply proud of his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. His home was always filled with warmth, celebrating occasions like Father’s Day, Christmas, and birthdays with those he held dear, either in Wareham or surrounded by nature’s beauty on Paul's Island.

Visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Wareham, on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 1 - 2 p.m. (family), 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. (public).  Funeral service will take place on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 2 p.m., officiated by Rev. Maxine Abbott, with interment to follow at The Anglican Cemetery, Wareham.

As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Woodbine's memory may be made to the family. A decision on monetary disbursements will be made later.
