Chaulk
August 9, 1935 – March 6, 2022
Passed peacefully away at Bonnews Lodge into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on March 6, 2022, Winnifred Chaulk of Deadman's Bay, age 86.
Predeceased by her husband Freeman; parents, Leonard and Lilian Skinner; sisters, Muriel, Phyllis, and Audrey; brothers-in-law, Carl, Carmen, Cyril (Martha), Jack (Emma), and Elmore Stokes; and sisters-in-law Ethel (Peter) Stokes and Sybil (Lindsay) Bemister.
Left with loving memories are brothers Gordon of Mount Pearl and Thomas (Joyce) of Main Point; sisters Hazel (Eric) Kinden of Stag Harbour and Betty (Paul) Priddle of Carbonear; brother-in-law Jesse Stokes of Deadman's Bay; sisters-in-law Ruby Stokes of Deadman's Bay, Yvonne (Edgar) Pardy and Beulah (Beaton) Abbott of Musgrave Harbour, and Jane (Maxwell) Goodyear and Janet Chaulk of Deadman's Bay; many nephews and nieces; and a large circle of friends.
Winnie was born at Carmanville in 1935 to Lillian and Leonard Skinner. At the age of 25, she meet the love of her life, Freeman Chaulk of Deadman's Bay. On February 8, 1961, they were married. They lived a full and happy life surrounded by family and friends. Winnie spent time helping Freeman in the fishery and enjoyed baking. Freeman and Winnie enjoyed travelling and visiting family and friends. Sadly Freeman passed away on May 1992. Winnie lived by herself until the age of 82 when she moved into Hillcrest Manor, Musgrave Harbour. She enjoyed the time spent at Hillcrest Manor where she made many friends. She was very appreciative to those that took care of her. In 2021, she became sick and spent 7 months in Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre where she received wonderful care. In December 2021 she moved to Bonnews Lodge where she also received wonderful care and comfort until her passing.
Winnifred's family would like to extend their gratitude to the amazing staff at Bonnews Lodge, Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, and Hillcrest Manor for their patience, care and support of their loved one .
Visitation and Funeral will be in accordance to Covid-19 recommendations and guidelines.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 10 A.M. - 1 P.M. followed by the funeral service at 2 P.M. at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour with Mrs. Sarah Bemister officiating. Interment will follow at the Gospel Hall Cemetery, Deadman's Bay.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted .
