William Wells

After a 5-year courageous battle with ALS, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Dr. Y. K Jeon Kittiwake Centre, Brookfield, Alfred William Wells, age 75 years of Trinity NL.

Predeceased by parents, Alfred and Emma Wells. Sister, Blanche Brown, and brothers Caleb, Cecil, Walter, Harold, Lewis, Joseph, Edgar & Wilfred. Sister-in-law, Rebecca Wells and Clare Wells; brothers-in-law Harvey Brown and Owen Bungay.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his devoted wife of 55 years, Mildred, and their beloved dog Patches. Sister Hazel Bungay, Sister-in-laws Wendy Wells, Delilah Wells, Dinah Wells and Nellie Brown. A large circle of family & friends, including Mildred’s siblings & spouses and many nieces & nephews.

Before being diagnosed with ALS, William (Bill) dearly enjoyed spending time at their cabin & boating, watching a good game of hockey (especially Toronto Maple Leafs), he had a keen sense of humor and loved to share a story or engage in a conversation on any given topic but above all he enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and friends. He was often the life of the party and would bring much laughter and smiles to those around him.

As per Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a burial at St. Alban’s Anglican Cemetery, Trinity at a later date.
