It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear loved one at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, Wilfred Mercer age 93 years of Brookfield. Predeceased by parents; John and Nora Mercer, grandparents; Levi and Mary Leyte, Wife; Sadie, grandson; Bradley Mercer, brother; Jacob and son-in-law; Richard Mainprize. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are sons; Thomas (Hazel) of Bay Roberts, William (Irene) of Benton, Leonard (Betty-Lou) of Wesleyville, Philip (Doris) of Newtown, Roland (Bonnie) of Brookfield, daughters; Sarah Mainprize of Wellon, ON., Beatrice (Claude Dionne) of Hamilton, ON., Victoria (Gordon Stokes) of Deadman's Bay, Verna (Sterling Norris) of Brookfield, Della (Paul Knee) of Brookfield, brothers; Norman (Virginia), Clifford (Sadie), Gordon (Helen), Maxwell (Dolly), Ross (Deloris), Jack (Glenda), sisters; Margaret, Florence, 25 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and many friends. Resting at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove. Funeral service will take place on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 2 P.M. at the United Church, Brookfield with Rev. Lorne Bungay officiating. Interment will follow at the United Church Cemetery, Brookfield. As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Wilfred's memory may be made to The Bradley Mercer Memorial Fund.
