Walter Edward Goodyear, age 72, passed peacefully away August 11th, 2026, at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s NL. He was surrounded by his wife and family.

Walt was predeceased by his baby son.

Walt will be dearly missed by his mother, Floss, and his wife of 51 years, Betty Goodyear, his children: Christine (Rocky) Goodyear, Jamie Goodyear, and Joey (Chelsea) Goodyear, his grandchildren: Dwight, Donovan, Dimitri, Kera, Landen, Alyssa, Parker, and Blake, and his siblings: Melvin (Fern), Randy (Sharron), Curtis (Joanne), and his favourite (and only) sister Cathy. He will also be remembered by his bonus grandchildren, Hunter, Logan,and Alexis, as well as a large circle of family and friends.Dad resided in Deadman’s Bay, NL, where he raised his family. He spent his free time trouting, and filleting fish.

The family would like to thank the emergency staff, as well as the 4 south B floor staff for taking care of him.

As per Dad’s wishes cremation has taken place at Barrett’s funeral home. His celebration of life will be taking place at a later date in Deadman’s Bay.
