It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear loved one on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield, Verna Amelia Hayward age 73 years of Deadman's Bay, NL.

Predeceased by her parents Samuel and Gladys Stokes; brothers Elmore, James and Wallace; sisters Annie and Maude.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories is her husband Winston; son David Hayward (Tammy) of Deadman's Bay; daughters Velda Hayward (Aubrey) of Deadman's Bay, Thresa Hayward of Deadman's Bay and Peggy Broderick (Leonard) of Deadman's Bay; grandchildren Shandi, Travis, Charlotte, D.J., Brittany, Cody and Bridgette; great-grandchildren Ethan, Logan, Kaden, Summer, Lila, Alijah, Aiden, Avia and Oliver; brothers-in-law Randy Hayward (Pam) of Wesleyville, Allison Hayward of St. John's, Byron Hayward of St. John's and Eric Hayward (Hazel) of Musgrave Harbour; sisters-in-law Ruby Stokes of Deadman's Bay, Vera Stokes of Deadman's Bay and Una Stokes of Gander Bay; and a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Special thanks to the staff of Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre and Bonnews Lodge for their compassion and caring for mom over these past few months.

Due to COVID restrictions and recommendations, visitation and  funeral service will be by invitation only.

Visitation will be held at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove on Sunday, January 10, 2021  from 12  noon - 4 P.M.

Funeral service will be held at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Larry Noseworthy officiating. Interment will follow at the United Church Cemetery, Deadman's  Bay.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in her memory to The Hayward Family and a decision on monetary disbursements will be made later.
