Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's, Sylvia Joy Stokes age 65 years of Mount Pearl, NL (formerly of Deadman's Bay, NL)

Predeceased by her parents; Blanche and Cecil Stokes and brother, Jeffery .

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughter; Renee, sisters; Brenda (Cecil Fifield), Patsy (Marvin Chaulk) and Rosie Burton, brothers; Beaton (Dawn) and Anthony (Beverly). Sylvia  also leaves a large circle of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces along with many wonderful friends.

Sylvia was a fun loving outgoing person most of her life. She was  one that never said no if you wanted to go somewhere or do something. She didn't care if it was out joy riding, going for an ice cream or just walking on the beach. Sylvia enjoyed people, a trip to the cabin with a crowd and a good meal was her idea of fun. She was always ready to lend a  helping hand and expected nothing in return. She had a big heart and it showed when it came to loving her family. Her door was always opened and she was never to busy to call and have a chat.

In later years with declining health she wasn't always able to do the things that brought her joy but she continued to smile through the pain and she made the best of what life had to offer. Sylvia will be greatly missed.
