Spencer Cutler

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield on Thursday, June 18, 2026, Spencer Cutler age 94 years of Indian Bay, NL.

He was predeceased by his wife Emily 'Grace' Cutler; parents: Horatio and Agnes Cutler; brothers: Howard (Annie Ethel), Caleb (Joyce), Cyril (Linda -still living); sisters: Frances (Esau), Rebecca (Eli); son in law: Gerard; Grandchildren: Jeffery, Calvin; Great Grandchild: Hayden.

 Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his sisters: Lily (Malcolm- deceased), Eileen (Martin- deceased), Selena (Gerald); son: Spencer (Arlene); daughters: Alma (Cliff), Linda (Clifford), Wendy (Gerard), Wanda (Darrell); Grandchildren: Clifford (Paulette), Christina (Tommy), Cindy, Sherry (Joe), Stacey, Kevin (Dia), Kayla (Anthony), Jessica, Colin (Krystyna), Jason (Keisha), Austin (Victoria), Darrell; and an extensive circle of family and friends. Special thanks to his wonderful care workers Bessie and Rosalind.

Spencer was a hard working man; a teacher, a fisherman, and a carpenter. He took so much pride in his work. His wife Grace was his true love, and other half. When she died, a part of him went too.Spencer had a tough exterior, but a soft heart. His love for animals was unmatched. Whether it was cats or birds, they never went unfed. He took in two strays which he called Blacky and Tiny, who held a very special place in his heart. Even making sure he had someone to take care of them once he was gone. Spencer will always be remembered for his quick wit, work ethic, sense of humor, and love of animals. His home was an open door, and everyone was welcomed. His presence will definitely be missed by family, friends, community members, and all of the little animals that he fed daily.

Visitation will take place at St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church, Indian Bay on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 12 noon - 9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Maxine Abbott officiating. Interment to follow at St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Cemetery, Indian Bay.

As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Spencer's memory may be made to the Cutler family, who will decide on monetary disbursements at a later date.
