It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one on Friday, August 2, 2019 at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital, St. John's Shirley Bernice Janes age 73 of Badger's Quay.

Predeceased by her husband Robert Janes; son Dwight Janes; parents Llewellyn and Florence Boland; brothers Lester Boland and Jerry Boland; sisters Minnie (Raymond) Vincent, Leah (James) Norris and Ida Tucker.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband John Kean; sons Wayne Janes of Badger' Quay, Howard Janes (Angela) of Toronto, ON. and Johnny Kean (Vicki) of Pool's Island; daughters Patrina Hawkins ( Gerald) of Newtown, Sue-Ann Hounsell (Sid) of Wareham and Tanya Firmage (Andy) of Wareham; grandchildren Lori Hawkins (Jeff), Paul Janes (Charlene), Robbie Janes (Shanelle), John Morra (Diana), Mike Morra (Gwen), Jarod Hawkins (Maegen), Jade Hawkins (Tyler Keats), Steven Hounsell (Kiara Eddy), Sam Firmage (Keayra Pickett), Dakota Firmage, Jackson Firmage and Spencer Kean; great-grandchildren Brooke Hawkins (Ryan Pickett), Shelby Hawkins, Paige Hawkins, Abby Janes, Philip Janes, Anna Janes, Dwight Hawkins, J.T. Morra , Cruz Morra, Tyler Janes and Moana Janes ; brother-in-law Ronald Tucker of Newtown, sister-in-law; Delilah Boland and a large circle of other relatives and many friends.

At Shirley's request cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove from where her funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 2 p.m. with Revs. Lorne and Roberta Bungay officiating. Inurnment at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Shirley's memory may be made to the family. A decision on monetary disbursements will be made later.
