Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay on Thursday, March 5, 2020 Samuel Robert Howell age 92 years of Badger's Quay. Predeceased by his parents; Gertrude and Nathan Howell, wife; Effie, brothers; James, Wilson and Leonard, sister; Lucy and infant great grandson; Nathan. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his sons; Herbert (Brenda) and Nathan (Marilyn), daughters; Rosemarie (Dennis) and Alice (Terry), 12 grandchildren; Jewel (Paul), Corey, Shawn (Chrissy), Jason (Tracey), Lisa (Jamie), Justin (Kelly), Lindsay (Sarah), Jonathan (Stephanie), Michael (Jennifer), Julianne (Eddie), Janeen (Chuck) and Marcus (Megan), 18 great grandchildren; Joshua, Zachery, Christopher, Bradley, Michael, Leigha, Ethan, Matthew, Madison, Hailey, Mia, Jackson, Bently, Gracie, Lexi, Emily, Samuel and Hunter, brother; Esau and sister Shirley and a large circle of relatives and friends and special friend Ron Smith.

Samuel's life started out at a very early age, at the age of 14 he set sailed for the Labrador grounds to fish. After a couple of years he worked as a cook in the lumber woods at Camp 11 and 32. Later in years he worked at Pack's Harbour. In 1970 he went with Viking Constructions putting in water and sewer for many years and then with New-Wes-Valley Council until he retired. Samuel had a love for animals and also raising them for consumption. He also loved gardening and flowers. He enjoyed many trips to his cabin at Salt Water Pond with his family and friends. Samuel had a wonderful sense of humour and loved his story tellings. He was blessed with a wonderful memory right up until his death. He will be missed and loved by all who knew him.

REST IN PEACE DEAR ONE, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

Resting at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove from where the funeral service will take place on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 2 p.m. with Rev. L. Daka officiating.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place with inurnment at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Samuel's memory may be made to Operation Smile @ www.operationsmile.ca or The SPCA.
