It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield on Thursday, April 11, 2019 Ruby Bernice Hefferton age 82 years of Newtown. Predeceased by her husband Maxwell, son James Hefferton, daughter Maxine Hefferton, brothers Fredrick and Donald Wheeler, sister Madeline Wheeler, brothers-in-law Frank Burry and Ian Pereira, stepson Calvin Hefferton and stepdaughter Bernice Beckett. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons Gary Hefferton (Annie Mae) of Lumsden and David Hefferton (Ian) of Kitchener, Ontario, daughters Brenda Carter (Jeffrey) of Badger's Quay and Madeline Mouland (Glenn) of Newtown, sisters Shirley Burry of Greenspond and Sandra Pereira of Pennsylvania, USA, grandchildren Eugene, Jimmy, Jonathan, Jena (Carl), Gina, Samantha and Rebecca, great grandchildren Myles, Keegan and Hayden, stepchildren Mable Sturge (Harold), Lorne Hefferton (Louise) and Arthur Hefferton (Barbara) and their families, special nephews Christopher Wheeler and Paul Burry and also a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Resting at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove. Funeral service to take place at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Newtown on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 2 p.m. with Rev. David Cook officiating.

As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Ruby's memory may be made to St. Luke's Anglican Church, Newtown or Daffodil Place, St. John's.
