It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL Roland Button age 75 years of Wareham, NL.

Predeceased by, Baby daughter June, Parents Cecil and Hannah Button. Brothers: Cecil John, Gilbert and Mark. Sisters: Beatrice, Charlotte, Alice, Gertie Catherine and Geraldine Hunt (John), parents-in-law; Percy and Louise Hunt, brothers-in-law; Edgar George (Maxine), James, Arthur, Gordon (Rosalind) and sister-in-law ; Joyce.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Lucy of 53 years and son Quinton. Brothers: Stewart (Cindy) of Mount Pearl, Donald (Classie) of St. John's, Frank (Anne) of Sydney, Nova Scotia and sister Frances Pickett (Leslie) of Wareham, sister in-law Mae,  brothers-in-law; Roland (Diane), Percy (Amelia), Kenneth (Edith), Wilson (Brenda), Len, Carl (Linda), Lorne (Pauline), Kevin (Bernadine), sisters-in-law; Ann Matthews (Malcolm) , Irene Hunt (Wilfred), Emma Kean (Larry), Arletta, Hazel (Rick) and a very large circle of other relatives and many friends.

Roland was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was a special uncle to his nieces and nephews. He was involved with the Recreation Committee for many numbers of years. He was Warden of St. John the Baptist Church for many years - a position he still held. He was a member of the Men's Parish Choir, Church Choir, a Reader and Sexton. He was member of Wareham Town Council and Parish Council.

Special thanks to Dr. Johnson and nurses of Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Center, Brookfield and Dr. Falaiye and nurses of General Surgery at James Paton Memorial Health Center, Gander.

Visitation will take place at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Wareham on Wednesday, January 15, 2025  from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m.; Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m..

Funeral service will take place on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Maxine Abbott officiating. Interment to follow The Anglican Church Cemetery, Wareham, NL

As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations in Roland's memory may be made to The Button Family. A decision on monetary disbursements will be made at a later date.
