Rod loved his family wholeheartedly and his wife;Annie, she was his one and only. He loved her deeply. Though he grew up in Gambo when he was younger, his heart was definitely in Indian Bay where his circle of family and friends grew and was evidently cherished by him as well. He was the life of the social gatherings, not afraid to beat on a tambourine or use the ugly and dress up with a hat or a wig. He was also always up for a good game of cards or dice anytime.
His life was a testament to the simple pleasures of the outdoors. He loved it on the water, boating and fishing. He left his skill of fileting codfish to many, which he learned while fishing and working in Fermuse earlier in life.
Rod thoroughly enjoyed his cabin in Indian Bay and in recent years, camping in his trailer at Hare Bay Park, enjoying campfires and using his Kayak in the calm waters near the camper. He also loved his quad and he and Annie would often take a ride in the country.
Rod always "showed up" to important events of his loved ones, from birthday celebrations to graduations of his nieces and nephews. We will be forever grateful for all these memories and for his love and support in sharing these special moments with us.
Rod was cherished by many and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
"A great soul never dies, it brings us together again and again". We will cherish and miss you forever husband, brother, uncle and friend.
