Richard Parsons, known to all his family and friends as Dick, was a kind
and gentle soul. He was a man of few words and it didn't take much to
make him happy. During his younger years, Dick worked away from home,
to provide for his family. Over the years, he loved to see his family grow
and you could see how proud he was of all their accomplishments. In his
golden years, Dick was content just living his day-to-day life. He enjoyed
working in the woods, shoveling a bit of snow and seeing what the boys
were up to in the garage. If you visited in the afternoon, lunchtime was at 3,
like clockwork and after suppers he spent his time peddling around the
door, watching the news and playing a scatter game of cards. During his
final days, Dick managed his illness with strength and grace and all he
wanted was to spend as much time as he could surrounded by the love of
his family and friends
