Phyllis Margaret
King
August 8, 1938 – June 22, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Phyllis Margaret King, who passed
peacefully away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family at
James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander.
Predeceased by her husband, Ralph; parents, Amelia and Roland Mullett; brothers, Ernest (Joan),
Peter (Olive); sisters, Sadie (Don Mercer), Carrie, and Druie (Jim Stead); sisters in law Mabel
(Eric Burry), Eliza (Peter Attwood); brothers in law Bill, Melvin; and grandson in law Leonard
Penton.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her two sons, Kevin (Lorraine) and Deward; daughter,
Deborah (Art White); grandchildren Sherry (Vince), Steven (Tammy), Shaun (Chantelle), Alex
(Stephanie) and Laura (Matt). She was also a proud great-grandmother to Zack, Logan, Kody
(Justine), Dustin, Myah, Maverick, and Thomas, and a great-great-grandmother to Harley. Also
mourning her loss are her sister Susie; sister-in-law Genevieve; as well as a large circle of
relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place at Kittiwake Funeral Home in Pound Cove on Tuesday, June 24, 2025
from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and
7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., (With Family service from8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.) Thursday 11:00a.m. to
1:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Kittiwake Funeral Home on Thursday, June 26,
2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Renee Easton officiating. Interment will follow at St. James Anglican
Cemetery, Pool's Island.
The family extends heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of love and support from friends and
family throughout Phyllis' life, especially during the past five weeks. Our deepest gratitude goes
to the staff of James Paton Memorial Hospital for the compassionate care they provided. Also a
very special thank you to Rev James Beaton and Rev Renee Easton.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the many years we were blessed to share with
her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and cherished memories.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in her
memory to the St. James Anglican Cemetery Fund, Pool's Island.
