It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at his residence at Indian Bay, NL, Peter Parsons age 86 years.
Predeceased by his parents Albert and Polly; sister Nona; mother and father in-law Margaret and George Ackerman; sister in-law Sadie; brothers in-law Raymond, Wilfred and Edwin.
Leaving to mourn his beloved wife of 63 years, Ada; sons George (Shermaine) of St. John's and Peter (Megan) of Oshawa; daughters Brenda (Wayne) of Gambo and Michelle (Wayne) of Bowmanville; grandchildren Amy (Justin), Brett (Kayla), Kaylah (Jonathan), Melanie (Michael), Evan (Kristen), Jalyssa (Colin), D.B., Dylan (Katie), Lucas, Emilie (Ben); great grandchildren Brandan (Hannah), Shayne (Destiny), Cruz, Aaran, Bentley, Carter, Ty, Kellan, Elena, Nova, Zofiah, Shire, Kaiya, Oksana, Zhepplen, Charleigh, Maverick; great great grandchildren Annabella, Aria; brother Harvey (Pauline) of Grand Falls - Windsor; sister Maggie of Indian Bay; and a large circle of other relatives and many friends.
A very special thank you to all who cared for Peter and deeply touched his heart.
Rev. Daphne Parsons for all her prayers, Dr. Michael Cutler, Dr. Joanne Hickey, the entire staff at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, special thanks to nurse Cathy Wicks. All the nurses at the Infusion Cl inic Gander, Community Care nurses especially Crystal and Kim, nurses at Burin Health Care Centre especially Bonnie Doyle and team. All of those who donated blood so he could live.
Visitation will take place at St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church, Indian Bay on Friday, July 7th 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m., Saturday, July 8th 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m., Sunday, July 9th 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m.
Funeral service will take place on Monday, July 10th at 2 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Short officiating. Interment to follow at The Anglican Cemetery, Indian Bay.
As an expression of sympathy donations in Peter's memory may be made to the family. A decision on monetary disbursments will be made later.
