August 18, 1952 – May 29, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, surrounded by her family at the Health Science Center, St. John's, NL, Olive Marie (Hicks) Kelloway of Wesleyville, NL, formerly of Musgrave Habour, NL.
Predeceased by parents, Douglas and Zena Hicks, parents in law Alpheaus and Gladys Kelloway, brother Wallace Hicks, sister Joan Hicks, brothers in law Bruce Hicks, George Snow, Frederick Kelloway, Bud Kelloway and Howard Osborne. Nephew Jeffery Hicks and Niece Nena Hicks.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband Hubert of 54 years, children Paul of Wesleyville, Michelle Dove(Bill) of St. John's granddaughter Kimberly Dove of St. John's, who was her pride and joy. Brothers Paul Hicks(Judy) of Carmanville, Winston Hicks(Linda) of Fort McMurray, sister Marina Snow of Noggin Cove. Special niece Judy Pinsent(Grant), who was more like a baby sister to her. Brothers in law Albert Kelloway(Marie) of Ontario, Warren Compton (Grace) of Clarenville, Sisters in law Louise Kelloway of Badgers Quay, Kate Roebotham(Lloyd) of Valleyfield, Carrie Osborne of Traytown, Ruth Wells(Guy) of Traytown, Millicent Kelloway of Stephenville, Sarah Grout(Doug) of Ontario, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. Along with many other family members and friends.
God needed another angel, so He called you home. You may be gone, mom, but you will live on forever in our hearts and memories.
Thank you to the staff at the Health Science Center for your love, care, and compassion towards mom and the family. Thank you to Major Barb Prichett for your many visits to mom and the family. Thank you, Beothic Fish Processors, for lowering your flag in mom's honor.
At Olives' request, cremation will take place.
Visitation will take place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove, on June 3rd, 1:00pm - 3:00pm, with memorial service to follow at 3:30pm with Major Betty Lou Pollett officiating.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations made to the Kelloway family. They will decide at a later date on monetary disbursements
