Olive Gill

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Olive Nina Gill, aged 91 of Newtown at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield, on Sunday, August 16, 2026. 

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Eli; her parents, Alexander and Mary Jane Perry; her infant son; her parents-in-law, Alexander and Florence Gill; her sisters, Lillian (Graham) Dawe, Lavina (Chesley) Howell, Sophie (Howard) Hall, and an infant sister, Sophie; her brothers, Pearce (Rita) Perry, Howard (Ivy) Perry, Wilfred Perry, and an infant brother, Chesley; and her sister-in-law, Daisy Perry.

Olive leaves behind a loving family: her daughters Shirley (Scott) of Alberta, Millicent (Jim) of Valleyfield, Pauline (Dwight) of Labrador City, and Sharon (Tony) of Kilbride. She is also mourned by her brother Harold Perry of Newtown; her sisters-in-law, Mona Perry of St. John's and Kate Howell of Newtown. Her memory will be cherished by her grandchildren, Mitchell (Jodi), John Adam (Kathrine), Leslie (Adam), Ashley (Tony), and Stephanie (Justin); as well as her great-grandchildren, Alexis, Reid, Zoie, Ana, and Wyatt. Olive will be fondly remembered by her friends at Otterbury Manor, her special friends Arlene Best and Stephanie Bungay, and a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Her life was one of love, family, and cherished memories.

In keeping with Olive's wishes cremation has taken place. Funeral service will take place at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Newtown on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 2 pm with Rev. Renee Easton officiating. Inurnment to follow at The Anglican Cemetery, Newtown.
