Newman George Head

June 03, 1930 – February 09, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Newman passed peacefully away after a lengthy illness, at James Paton Hospital at 1:10 p.m. on February 09, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

"We are comforted knowing his strong faith and unconditional love for the Lord ensures our reunion in the morning."

Pre-deceased by his parents Amos and Ellen Head; Sisters: Marjorie Murdock, Emmaline Whiteway, Jean Riche, Melinda Chapman, and Myra Coulen; Brothers, Uriel and Lloyd; Father and Mother-in-Law, Bertram and Louise Mouland; Brother-in-Law, Jack Mouland; Daughter-in-Law, Susan (Roger), Son-in-Law, Dan (Susan).

Leaving to mourn, his wife and soulmate of 63 years, Myra (nee Mouland); Sons: John (Alana) and Roger (Sandi); Daughter, Susan;Grandchildren: Nicole (Eric), Daniel (Kimberly), Courtney (Ryan), Heather and Aaron;Great-grandchildren: Joseph, Elenore, and Zoey. Also, leaving to mourn, Sister-in-Law, Daphne (Jack, deceased),Brothers-in-Law, Brian (Beatrice) and Wade (Eunice); A long list of extended family and friends. Many lives have been touched through his teaching career, his counselling at Harbour Light, his stories, his laughter, his leadership, and his special one-of-a-kind personality. The Family would like to thank Doctors Casey and Byrne, the nurses and staff at JPMH for their continued care and compassion.  A special thank you to Jack and Anne Way for their nearly daily visits and love and support to Mom and Dad during his illness.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour, on Tuesday, February 12 ^th , 2019 from 2 – 4 p.m. and from 7 – 9 p.m.

A service will be held at Salvation Army Citadel Musgrave Harbour, on Wednesday February 13 ^th , 11 a.m. officiated by Major Violet Chaulk.  Interment at a later date.
