Nellie
Hann
October 7, 1938 – January 20, 2026
Her journey is complete. A chapter has closed, and she rests in peace.
Nellie Hann, beloved daughter of Louella and John Cull Kean, the last of her generation, was born at Keans Point, Pound Cove, on October 7, 1938, and gently slipped into eternal rest on January 20, 2026.
Predeceased by her loving husband, Glenn; her brothers Eldon, Oliver, Cluney, Samuel, and Russell; her sisters Madeline and Dorothy; her parents-in-law, Daniel and Ivy; and her son-in-law, Clayton (Jr.), she is now reunited in spirit with those she loved.
She leaves behind a legacy of love in her strong, independent daughters, Dale, Darlene, and Danette, who cared for her with devotion and compassion, and her deeply cherished son, Rodney, a constant source of comfort and pride.
A devoted grandmother to Mark (Medina), Jonathon, Danielle (Axel), and Joshua (Shania), and a proud great-grandmother to Isabella, Arlo, Luca, and Henry, her love will ripple through generations.
She is also fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law, Sophie, Marina, Olive, and Roma, and by her many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Her life was one of quiet strength, gentle courage, and unwavering devotion to family. Though her chapter has closed, the light of her kindness, warmth, and love will forever linger in the hearts of those who knew her.
Special thanks to the Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, its nursing and staff, and to Doctors Cutler & Johnson, for their compassionate care and support throughout Nellie's journey.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place, and there will be no visitation.
A Memorial Service will be held on July 18, 2026, at Cape Freels United Church Cemetery, followed by a celebration of her life at the Hann Family Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nellie's memory to the NL Cancer Care Foundation, a cause close to her heart for over 50 years, or to the Cape Freels United Church Cemetery Fund.
