Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loved one on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Bonnews Lodge, Badgers Quay, Muriel Pickett (nee Noble) age 98 years of Centreville, NL.

Muriel was born on Fair Island on December 3, 1924 and moved to Centerville in 1961. She is predeceased by her husband Elias(1995), son Arthur, grandson Jason, son-in-law Clarence, parents James and Alice Noble, brother Fred(Mary) and brother Jim.  She is also predeceased by Elias' siblings, Adeline(Malcolm), Marjorie(Lester), Arthur(Dorothy), Norman(Winnie), Roy(Joyce).

Leaving with fond and loving memories are her children Esther Park, Seward(Jane), Linda Christie(Jerry), Jill Bungay(Les), Wanda Brown(Gary) and daughter-in-law Jane.  While Muriel loved her children very much we know that the joy of her life was her 19 grandchildren, Tina(Derek), Todd (Julie), Trevor(Lynn), Ted(Renee), Sharon, Sheila(Jeff), Ian(Belinda), Sandra, Shelley(Todd), Sherman(Sarah), Sherry(Shawn), Shannon(Barbara), Andrea(Norm), Alvin(Cindy), Anita(Gerald), Adrian(Jody), Shauna(Rob), Colleen(Robbie) and Nicole(Jared).  Also missing their adored Nanny Pickett is her 31 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.  Also mourning Muriel is her brother-in-law Andrew Squire, sisters-in-law Minnie Noble and Jane Squire, special cousin Phyllis and her many nephews, nieces and friends.

We would like to thank the staff at Bonnews Lodge for the care given to Mom during her stay.

Thanks Mom for teaching us so much!  We love you.

Visitation will take place at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Centreville on Sunday, February 5, 2023 from 10: 30 A.M. - 12 P.M. (Family Only) and 7 P.M. - 9 P.M. (Public)

Monday, February 6, 2023,  Public visitation  at 10 A.M. - 12 P.M.; 2 P.M. - 4 P.M.  & 7 P.M. - 9 P.M.

Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 11 A.M. at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Centreville with Rev. Daphne Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at St. Barnabas Anglican Cemetery, Centreville.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in her memory to St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Centreville or to The CWT-Indian Bay Fire Department.
