It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay on Friday, November 22, 2024 May Lillian Ricketts age 96 years of Valleyfield.
Predeceased by her parents Pearce and Nellie Hall; grandson Stephen Ricketts; sister Ella Bishop; brother Cyril Hall; son in-law Herbert Howell; brothers in-law Obediah Howell and Victor Bishop.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons Carson (Carlene) of Summerside, PEI and Dwight of Calgary, AB; daughters Christine (Harry Winter) of Valleyfield and Brenda (Gordon White) of Valleyfield; sister Emma Howell of Templeman; grandchildren Michael (Vicki), Lindsay (Sarah), Kristan (Cameron), Paige (Nithin), Matthew (Sally), Candace (Robert) and Tonia (Jeff); great grandchildren Taylor (Dylan), Leigha (Kayne), Ethan, Jaxson, Bently, Avery, Jackson, Grayson, Simon, Leah and Addison May; great great-grandson Charlee; sisters in-law Margaret Clarke and Sarah Smedley; special family member Joan Parsons and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Mom dedicated her life to caring for others as a compassionate and skilled health care worker. She spent over 40 years serving at Brookfield Hospital and Bonnews Lodge, earning the admiration of her colleagues and patients alike. Her tireless devotion to the well-being of others was a testament to her kind and selfless nature. She touched many lives, offering comfort and support through both the difficult and joyous moments of her patients' lives.
In addition to her career in health care, Mom was a lover of life's simple pleasures. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel, and she was always excited to visit new places. Above all, she cherished her family, visiting them often and creating lifelong memories.
Mom and her sisters, Ella and Emma, were fondly known as the "Golden Girls". They were her greatest companions throughout life and the three shared a special bond.
Visitation will take place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 2 – 4 p.m. (Family) & 7 – 9 p.m. (Public); Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 2 – 4 p.m. (Public) & 7 – 9 p.m. (Public).
Funeral service will be held at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Badger's Quay on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Renee Easton officiating. Cremation to follow after the service with burial at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in May's memory can be made to St. Alban's Anglican Cemetery Fund, Badger's Quay, NL.
