It
is with great sadness that the family of Maxwell Pickett announce his passing at his home in Centreville on February 20, 2021 at the age of 75 years.
Max was born on December 10, 1945 on Fair Island. Although the island was resettled his heart always belonged there. He made his living from the sea which was a hard job to do but not as hard when you thoroughly enjoy doing what you love. In his retirement he returned to the island which he loved and where he spend so much time. He also spent as many days has he could cutting wood. Max was a member of the Canadian Rangers, Newfoundland for over 30 years. He loved his family dearly and was loved dearly by all who knew him.
Predeceased by wife Bessie; parents Richard and Lena; brothers Frederick and Willis; sister Betty and brother in law Eric Thomas.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his companion of 5 years Harriet Hancock-Curl, his children Angie (Curtis), Derrick (Gertie), Jolette (Jamie) and Jolynn (Todd). Grandchildren Logan, Raya (Justin), Joshua, Keayra, Cole, Aaron, Blake, McKenna, Jorja, Ryder and Gage. Great grandchildren James, Lucas and Nova. Siblings Harold (Jane), Victoria (Dan), Lemuel (Greta), Howe (Pauline), Richard (Charity), and Sylvester ( Marie). Many Nieces and Nephews and a large circle of friends.
Due to COVID - 19 all services will be in accordance to Alert Level 5 Public Health Orders.
A private Interment will take place on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 2 P.M. at St. Barnabas Anglican Church Cemetery, Centreville, NL
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations in Maxwell's memory may be made to The Cancer Clinic, James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander.
