It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret Nippard of Wareham. Our beloved Wife, Mom, Nan and Sister passed peacefully at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, at age 72 on Monday, August 11, 2025.
Margaret was born on May 16, 1953, on Silver Fox Island, and her heart never left. She lived a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to her family. Margaret will be forever remembered by her generous heart, warm smile and the way she made everyone feel welcome in her home, with an open door and homemade bread. She was a devoted wife, mother to her daughters, and cherished Nan to all her grandchildren.
She carried on the legacy of strong family roots by retiring in her childhood hometown of Wareham, NL and reclaiming her parents' home. Her love of cards, bingo and a good Newfie jig will be remembered by many.
Margaret is predeceased by her parents; Samuel and Maude Button, first husband Dave, Brothers; Ralph, Winston, and Joe (Faye), Sisters; Shirley (Gus), Elizabeth (Elias), and Phyllis. Leaving to mourn with beautiful and loving memories are, her husband Bill, daughters Tanya (Marc) of Orangeville ON, Tracy (Dale) of Tottenham ON, and Jennifer of Warkworth ON; stepdaughter Maureen (Steve) of Chicago, stepson Billy (Jen) of Kitchener, grandchildren; Kelsey (April), Emily (Cass), Taylor, Dylan, Rebecca, Jaxsen, and Mackenzie (Caleb), great grand daughter Marie Ann; brothers Larry (Brenda) of Lethbridge AB, Earl (Shelia) of Newcastle ON, David (Leslie) of Midland ON, and Dean (Judy) of Trenton ON, brother in law John of Surrey BC, sister in laws Lorna of Centreville NL, and Betty of Laurenceton NL, the Rogers family, a large circle of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will take place at St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Wareham on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m.
Funeral service will take place on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Maxine Abbott officiating. Interment to follow at The Anglican Church Cemetery, Wareham, NL.
