February 2, 1931 – November 10, 2022
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear loved one, Madeline Louise Holloway, age 91 years; who passed away November 10, 2022 at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL.
Mom was an effervescent, humorous, caring and compassionate lady who loved to dance. She was known to her family and close friends as "The Recycled Teenager" because of her energy and love of life.
In her later years, she volunteered with the Anglican Church Women's Association, the Library Board and did door-to-door canvassing for various charities.
Mom was a devout Christian who often gave of her time and talents to the benefit of her church – St. Barnabas Anglican, Centreville.
She will be greatly missed and remembered by family and friends; including her extended family at Oram's Emmanuel Manor, Gambo. Her home for the past six years.
She is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Mary Parsons; husband Wilbert Holloway; sons Wayne and Leslie Holloway; sons-in-law Martin Collins and Josiah Cutler; sister Josephine Easton (George); brothers Caleb Parsons (Emily) and Thomas Parsons (Jean).
Madeline leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughters Trudy Collins of Centreville, Gwen Cutler of Sarnia, ON, Sheila Stuart (Stephen) of Milton, ON, and Sue Ann Gorassi (Robert) of Oshawa, ON; brother Winston Parsons (Anne) of Corner Brook; sisters Shirley Dooley of St. John's and Rebecca Fancy (Stanley) of Gander; grandchildren Colleen, Tony, Tammy, Renee, Troy, Neil, Nicole, Tyler, Jonathan, Alexis, Taylor and Logan; great-grandchildren Roger, Melanie, Philip, Joshua, Alexander, Abigayle, James, Lucas, Colton, Brayden, Anna, Cody, Brady, Aden, Nixon, Mercedes, Atlas, Azalea, Patrick, Cameron, Chloe and Naomi; great-great-grandchildren Holly, Noah and Bryer; and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will take place at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Centreville on Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 2 - 4 p.m. & 7 - 9 p.m.; Monday, November 14, 2022 from 2 - 4 p.m.
Family service to take place at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2022 with Rev. Daphne Parsons officiating.
Funeral service to be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Renee Easton officiating. Interment to follow at The Anglican Cemetery, Centreville.
As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Madeline's memory can be made to St. Barnabas Anglican Cemetery Fund, Centreville or to the family. A decision on monetary disbursements will be made at a later date.
