I t is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one, surrounded by his loving family, on August 16th, 2023 at The Health Sciences Centre, St. John's, Kevin Whalen age 61.

Predeceased by his father Edgar Whalen, brother Dennis Whalen and sister in law Elaine Chaulk.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Diane, fur baby Abby, mother Millie Whalen, sisters;  Asseneth (Bill) of Lumsden, Judy (Tony) of St. John's, sisters in law;  Janice Whalen, Judy (Ken) Marshall, Janette (Herman) Brown, brothers in law;  Howard (Linda) Sweetland, Scott (Sandra) Sweetland, Sid Chaulk,  nephews; Gordon Stockley (Carolyn), Dwayne Stockley (Lonni), nieces;  Jessica Kean (Austin), Kristen Chafe (Zachary), Courtney Crowell (Tim), Elizabeth Kean (Jarvis), special home care worker BJ Mesh (Gary) and a large circle of other relatives and many friends.

Public visitation will take place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove
Sunday, August 18th, 2024, 7PM - 9PM, Monday August 19th and Tuesday, August 20th, 2 PM - 4PM and 7PM - 9PM

Funeral service will take place at The United Church, Lumsden on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dianne Crewe officiating.

Interment to follow at The Goodyear Cemetery, Windmill Bight - Lumsden, NL

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Kevin's memory to the family. They will decide on monetary disbursements at a later date.
