It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield, Juanita Hatcher age 84 years of Lumsden.

Predeceased by her husband Erwin Hatcher; parents Earl and Marie Melindy; brothers Gordon, Jack, and Lloyd; sisters-in-law Dorcas, Patricia, Phyllis, and Ruth; brothers-in-law Wilfred, Lloyd, and Lawrence.

She leaves to mourn with fond memories, her children: Roy (Rosalind), Don (Rosemary), Anne Marie (Darrell), and Kay (Justin). Grandchildren: Christopher (Laurie), Ashley (Cody), Shaunna (Robert), Patrick (Jade), and Shawn. Great-grandchildren: Greyson, Brooklyn, Landon, Teagan, Hailey, Beckham, Carter, Tatum, and Bennett. Siblings: Elsie Norman and Fred Melindy (Norma). A very special family friend, Geraldine Stagg. She also leaves behind a large circle of extended family and friends who she loved dearly.

Juanita was involved in many aspects of her community throughout the years. She especially loved to play the organ at church, and music was a big part of her life. Here is a verse from a song she wrote:

"So my friends if you're facing the darkness and it seems there can be no way through, put your hand in the hand of the saviour and I know he'll be there for you too"

Visitation will take place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove

Funeral service will take place at Wesley United Church, Lumsden on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Desmond Parsons officiating. Interment to follow at The United Church Cemetery, Lumsden.

As an expression of sympathy and in her memory, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made to The Janeway Children's Hospital.
