It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father Edward Joseph "Joe" Wells at
Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre on July 9, 2021 at the age of 83 years old.

He was born
Jan 27, 1938 on Gooseberry Island, and at the age of five his family resettled to the town of
Trinity, Bonavista Bay. There Joe met and marred his wife of 47 years Rebecca, where they had
eight children.
Predeceased by parents Alfred and Emma (Denty), wife Rebecca Mary (Gibbons), son Lorne
Edward, parents in-law William and Cecilia(Brown) Gibbons, sister Blanche Brown, and
brothers Caleb, Cecil, Walter, Harold and Lewis, sisters in-law Gertrude Brown, Ida Hunt,
brothers in-law Harvey Brown, Frederick Brown, Roland Gibbons, Owen Bungay.

Left with fond and loving memories devoted partner of 15 years Nellie Brown and his Daughters:
Judy (Hilliard), Jean Brown (George), Claudette Pond (Ivan), Tracey. Sons: Tony (Mary Jane),
Daniel (Bessie), Gerry (Doreen) Daughter-in-law Josephine
Grandchildren: Tammy, Wilfred (Amanda), Pamela (Richard), Shawn (Laura), Jennifer (Tamara),
Sheila (Daniel), Rebecca, Samantha, Taylor (Jessica), Bradley (Skyla), Roderick, Jasmine, Dylan
(Brianna)
Great Grandchildren: Nathan, Nicole, Cody, Alexis, Tyrone, Colby, Hank.
Great-Great Grandchildren: Toby, Evangeline.
Sister: Hazel Bungay Brothers: Edgar (Dinah), Wilfred (Wendy), William "Bill" (Mildred),
Sisters in-law Claire, Delilah, Christina, Ella (Rex Pickett). Brothers in-law Harry and Samuel.
Along with many nieces and nephews and Nellie's family, Vernon (Margaret),
Deon (Amanda), Kevin (Chantel), Natasha, Danian, Callie, Mackenzie, Brodie and Leighton Rae.

In keeping with COVID-19 recommendations and guidelines, visitation and funeral service will be by invitation only.

Visitation will take place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove on Sunday, July 11 from 2 - 5 p.m. and Monday, July 12 from 1 - 4 p.m.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Trinity with Rev. Daphne Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at The Anglican Church Cemetery, Trinity.

As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Joe's memory may be made to The Diabetes Association or to ALS Society of Canada.
