It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear loved one on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Dr. Y.K.Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield, Joseph Edward Abbott age 102 years of Musgrave Harbour.

Predeceased by his wife; Alva (Pennell), parents; Benjamin and Rhoda Abbott, cherished grandson; Sterling Abbott, great grandsons, Pacy Pinsent and Lucas Winsor, brothers; William, Eli, Naboth, Tobias, James and sisters; Blanche Butt, Jessie Wells, Geraldine Manuel, Maggie Langdon and Muriel Lawrence.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his children; Lawrence (Joyce), Naboth (Brenda), Verna Dampier (William), Leslie (Dale),Pearce (Wendy), Homer (Linda), Ula Tulk (Roy), 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, brother; Chesley Abbott, sister-in-law; Betty and a large circle of extended relatives and friends.

In keeping with COVID-19 recommendations and restrictions, visitation and funeral service will be by invitation only.

Visitation for family will take place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Musgrave Harbour on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. with funeral service to follow at 12 noon officiated by Pastor Henry Sansome. Interment to follow at the Pentecostal Cemetery, Musgrave Harbour.

As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to The Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.
