It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John (Jack) Spurrell on March 28, 2016, at his home after a battle with cancer in his 88th year. Predeceased by his parents Alex and Laura Spurrell; sisters Nita Winter, Stella Carter, Florence Barbour and Margaret Spurrell. He leaves to mourn his wife Myrtle(Bourne); sons Glenn(Karen) and David(Maureen); sisters Joan Young(Donald) and Minnie Gillingham; brother Harry Spurrell(Kay); grandchildren Jacqueline and Ryan; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will take place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove on Friday, October 21, 2016 from 7 – 9 p.m.

Funeral service will take place at St. James Anglican Church, Pool's Island on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 2 p.m. with Bishop Donald Young officiating. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Pool's Island.
