It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, New-Wes-Valley on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, John Darius Hoyles, age 73 years of New-Wes-Valley.
Predeceased by his parents; Baxter and Margaret Hoyles and wife; Sadie.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his son; Trevor (Ashlea), granddaughter; Nora, grandson; Baxter, sisters; Jane Blagdon, Marina (Russ) Kean, Marilyn Hoyles (Tom Johnson), Irene (Otto) Burry, brothers; Ken (Peggy), Eric (Janine), Scott (Margaret), and Grant (Darlene), brothers-in-law; Cliff (Dorene) and Wilf (Ruth), sistesr-in-law; Kate Knee, Elaine (Glen) Goodyear and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
John Hoyles was a kind and gentle soul. He left a lasting impression on the people he met and he could always be depended on no matter the circumstance. He was well known in the community for being a lover of good times and the life of countless gatherings. His infectious smile and giant heart are etched in the memories of family, friends, and strangers spanning from Calgary to Bonavista Bay. His grandchildren were a huge part of his life and being their Poppy was one of his greatest joys.
During his final days, John was surrounded by family and friends for whom he cared for deeply. He left behind years of memories and an impression only the likes of John Hoyles could make.
Funeral Service will take place at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Newtown on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Renee Easton officiating, assisted by Rev. Roberta Vincent-Bungay and Rev. Lorne Bungay. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Anglican Cemetery, Pound Cove.
Visitation will take place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove
Friday, May 3rd from 2 - 4 pm (Family Only) & 7 - 9 pm (Public)
Saturday, May 4th from 2 - 4 pm (Public) & 7 - 9 pm (Public)
As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the family. A decision on monetary disbursements will be made later.
