Whiteway Jean, (Hicks). It is with profound sadness that we said goodbye to Jean on Monday, July 8, 2024 at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield, NL, at the age of 92.

She was born in Doting Cove on March 27, 1932, the youngest child of Edith and Moses Hicks. She was predeceased by beloved husband Harry, daughter Louise, son-in-law George Mouland, parents Edith and Moses Hicks, sisters Blanche, Zena Ruth, Vena Grace, Pearl (Harold), Dorothy (Ned), Violet (Arthur), Effie (Frank), brothers Clayton (Ida) and Gerald (Hazel).

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons Brent (Susan) and Geoff (Sandra), grandchildren Philip (Betty), Blair (Jennifer), David (Brianna), Matthew, great-grandchildren Madison (Joey), Brooklyn, Lindsay, Ayden, Zoey and Sydney, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Jean had a passion for quilting, knitting, reading and baking. None left her home without a treat for later. She was an active member in the United Church Women. Jean's legacy of love, strength, resilience, and compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in peace.

Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 AM on July 20th in Musgrave Harbour, NL.
