It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one, James Otto Gilmore Burry, who was born on May 29th 1939, in Valleyfield, NL.

Otto was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He married his first wife, Sybil, on February 24th, 1961 and together they raised five children, instilling in them values of love, hard work and family. Otto's love for his family was evident throughout his life and remained steadfast even after Sybil's passing in 2003. In 2007, Otto married Irene and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, joy and shared experiences. He embraced his extended family.

Otto's career began as an electrician in Lab City. His journey continued with a position at the Union Store as a general labourer, and later, as a linesman with Light and Power. Otto dedicated his 29 years of service to his work, retiring in July 1993, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.

Outside of his work life, Otto served as a member of the S.U.F in Badger's Quay for many years. He loved nature and his daily car rides with Irene from Lumsden to Greenspond; a cherished part of their routine. Otto found peace in the beauty of wildlife, farm animals, and the simple pleasures of life. He could often be found visiting South Wes Pond Park in the summer, enjoying the outdoors and the company of family. In his spare time Otto was a man of many talents. He loved doing puzzles, planting seeds, playing 500's and creating something new. His hands were always busy whether crafting or inventing something. Otto had a love for hockey and was a passionate Montreal Canadians fan.

Otto will be remembered for his love for his family, hard working spirit and quiet presence. His legacy will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him .
