Ivy
Parsons
July 15, 1926 – March 26, 2022
Passed away suddenly, but peacefully, on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at her son's home in St. John's, Ivy Doris Parsons (nee Hatcher), aged 95 years, of Lumsden, NL.
Ivy was born in Lumsden on July 15, 1926. She and her husband, Joseph, lived most of their life in Lumsden; but, in later years, they spent a major part of the year living in St. John's, first with their daughter, Wanda, and her husband James, and then with their son, Jeffrey, and his wife Katherine, where Ivy resided since Joe's death.
Ivy is predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph, on August 21, 2012; her sister, Audrey, on May 20, 2011; her mom, Nellie, on August 3, 1990; her dad, Wilfred, on July 14, 1950; and her brother, Fred, on January 1, 1941.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her two sons: Scott (Kathleen Hobbs), and Jeffrey (Katherine Gallagher); her two daughters: Sandra (James Cooze), and Wanda (James Flynn); her ten grandchildren, whom she adored: Karen Parsons (Amy Nighbor), Kim Parsons, Jason Parsons, James Cooze (Sandra Henning), Justin Cooze, Sandi Cooze (Greg Ball), Sarah Flynn (Kevin Doyle), Lauren Flynn, Alanna Flynn, and James Flynn; and her five treasured great-grandchildren: Milo, Maisie, Cedric, Miles and Iris.
The family would like to thank her son, Jeffrey, and his wife, Katherine, for lovingly and tirelessly caring for her for many years. Ivy would always say that they treated her like gold. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Roger Butler and Dr. Joel Koops for their excellent care of Mom over many years.
Funeral home visitation will be for family only.
A memorial service will be held online via Zoom on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 2 p.m., through the Lumsden Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, with Mr. Josh Evans officiating.
