It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Centre, Botwood, NL, Ralph Brown age 85 years of Trinity, B.Bay.
Predeceased by parents; Lewis and Effie (Feltham) Brown, baby sister; Ada Brown, daughter; Doris Brown and sisters; Nellie Button and Doris Gardiner.
Leaving to mourn with beautiful memories are his wife; Sadie, son; Tony Brown (Marcie), daughters; Ada Rogers (Keith), Doris Goulding (Melvin), Michelle Penton (Jodey), sister; Ada Robitaille (Robie), brother-in-law; Samuel Button, grandchildren; Lee King, Lisa King, Leon King, Joshua Rogers, Jordan Brown, Tiana Gauthier, Tamara Brown, Chantellynne Burry, Keira Goulding, Tony Penton and Brittani Penton and 21 beautiful great - grandchildren.
Israel Brown was known to all as "Ralph ", but to his friends and co-workers it was "Brownie"
He was born in Trinity, Bonavista Bay on December 28, 1938 to Lewis and Effie Brown, the only son of four children.
He married the love of his life; Sadie and they had 61 years of marriage. They had four children and he would tell them often how proud he was and say " I got some good kids"
Ralph was also known to his grandchildren and great grandchildren as Poppy Dooley; for he would sit them on his knee and sing "Doody, Doody, Doo" while bouncing them; they would laugh with joy and he would love every minute of it.
At a very young age he learned that working hard was the way of life and he passed that on to each of his children. He started a career in Welding and in doing this he became will known for his knowledge and skills. This skill gave him the passion to open a small business called "Brownie's Mobile Welding ". This career of Welding took him to many places across Canada and with this he made many friendships.
Ralph truly enjoyed life to the fullest, travelling to visit his three sisters, he had a CB handle called The Golden Eagle (chatting with people from all over the world). He loved hunting, fishing, boating, cabin life and a good game of cards.
Ralph leaves behind a very large circle of family and friends that will miss him dearly.
Public Visitations will take place at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Trinity on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 7 P.m. - 9 P.M. The funeral service will follow on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Maxine Abbott officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Alban's Anglican Cemetery, Trinity, B.Bay.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ralph's memory to St. Alban's Anglican Church, Trinity, B.Bay, NL.
The family of the Late Ralph Brown would like to thank his homecare workers for their love and compassion in his time at home. Special thanks to Nancy Gates and Dana Carter. To all that helped in any way; thank you from the bottom of our herats.
