It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay on Monday, September 24, 2018, Irene Gibbons age 93 years of Lumsden. Predeceased by her parents: Peter and Maggie Blackwood, husband Donald Gibbons and her children: Maggie and Peter. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son: Cyril (Beverley) of Labrador City; grandchildren: Jeff (Kelly) Gibbons and Lori (Shannon) Strangemore; great-grandchildren: Brett, Scott, Christopher and Adam, brother: Cyril Blackwood; sisters: Evelyn Winter, Marjorie Kells and Pearl Kean, as well as a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends . Resting at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove. Funeral service to take place at The Wesley United Church, Lumsden on Wednesday, September 26th, 2018 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Larry Noseworthy officiating. Interment to follow at The United Church Cemetery, Lumsden. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Wesley United Church Cemetery Fund, Lumsden.
