It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Gladys Dowden age 105 years of Greenspond.

Gladys Maud was born on Newells Island and moved to Greenspond at a very young age. She is predeceased by her parents George and Emma (Woodland) Carter, her loving husband Gordon of Greenspond, her brothers and sisters-in-law; Roland (Edna), Cecil (Lydia), Llewellyn (Alma) and Charlie (Mary) and sisters and brothers-in-law; Lucy (Cecil) and Jean (Wilfred).

Leaving to mourn are her loving family of nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, other relatives and a large circle of special friends. She loved people to visit her and welcomed all. She will be dearly missed.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation will take place.

Funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 24, 2024 T St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Greenspond at 2 P.M. with Rev. Renee Easton officiating. Inurment will follow at the Interfaith Cemetery, Greenspond, Shambler's Cove.

As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gladys' memory to St. Stephen's Anglican Church, Greenspond or the Interfaith Cemetery, Shambler's Cove.
