It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield Gertrude Elsie Gill age 89 years of Newtown.

Predeceased by her parents Luke and Sarah Lush; step-father Edward Green; husband John; infant son Terry Lindburgh; grandchildren Trudy Gill and Andrew Simms; great-grandchild Matthew Horton; sisters Stella Pye and Irene Skiffington; brothers-in-law Benjamin Bungay, Ed Maher, Harvey Simms and Lester Skiffington.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sons Calvin (Patricia) of Newtown, Luke (Debbie) of St. John's, Bruce (Joan) of Newtown and Johnny (Louisa) of Newtown; daughters Stella Simms (Freeman) of Little Bay, Sarah Quinlan (Sylvester) of Holyrood, Margaret Vincent (Hughie) of Newtown, Cavell Simms (Glenn) of St. Patrick's and Joanne Maddick (Donny) of Goulds; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother Robert Green (Mary) of Paradise; sisters Daisy Bungay of Newtown, Sadie Tucker of St. John's, Rose Vincent (Howard) of Newtown and Doris Simms of Springdale; brothers-in-law Edward Pye of Newtown and Roy Tucker of C.B.S.; sister-in-law Bertha Gill of Gambo; special friend Mona Perry of St. John's and a large circle of other relatives and many friends.

Resting at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove.

Funeral service will take place at Trinity United Church, Newtown on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Larry Noseworthy officiating. Interment to follow at The United Church Cemetery, Newtown.

In lieu of flowers donations in Gertrude's memory may be made to Trinity United Church, Newtown.
