Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald Christie, 79, of Beresford, NB, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2024, at Brookfield Hospital with his wife and son by his side.

Visitation will be 7-9 pm on July 16th and July 17th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at St. Barnabas Chapel, Centreville, B. Bay.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday July 18th, 2024, at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Centreville, B. Bay with the Rev. Maxine of St. Barnabas Anglican Church officiating.

Gerald Christie was born in Beresford, NB to Clifford and Simone Christie on September 14th, 1944. He married Linda Christie (Nee) Pickett on December 11, 1999, in Fort McMurray, AB. He worked as a Millwright for Syncrude for 21 years.  He was a member of the 50+ club and enjoyed going to play cards every Thursday afternoon. He enjoyed cod fishing, darts and pool and dancing to anything, especially Johnny Reid. He loved his desserts, especially apple pie and ice cream; he would say to Jill "It would be so nice to have an apple pie now" and of course Jill would go home and make one for him. He was a kind, loving, caring, gentle person. He always wanted to make sure that everyone was taken care of and had everything they needed. He was the voice of reasoning in any situation which came in handy when he took on a very big stepfamily. He made numerous friends since moving from Fort McMurray to Centreville in 2000. He made a positive impact to everyone he met.

Gerald Christie is preceded in death by parents Clifford & Simone Christie, Sister Anne Marie Gammon, parents-in-law Muriel & Elias Pickett, brothers-in-law Arthur Pickett & Clarence Park, Sister-in-law Wanda Brown (nee) Pickett and Nephew-in-law Jason Park.

Gerald is survived by his loving wife Linda Christie (nee Pickett) of 24 years; Son, Philip Christie; Step-Children Andrea (Norm) Charbonneau, Alvin Feltham, Anita (Gerald) Brown, Adrian (Jody) Feltham; Brothers-in-law, Greg Gammon, Seward (Jane) Pickett, Gary Brown; Sisters-in-law Esther Park, Jane Pickett, Jill (Les) Bungay; Grandchildren Hunter (Gouws) Oberholzer, Kane & Evan Christie, Bradley (Andrew) Feltham, Brandan (Shannon) Feltham, Jessica (Brandon) Ouellette, Ashley (Austin) Fraser, Brendan (Kaitlin) Feltham, Zachary (Jennifer) Feltham, Alexis & Alicia Brown; Great-Grandchildren Hayden, Jax, Kohen, Linnea & Olivia Feltham, Alea & Marcus Fraser and a large number of nieces, nephews, friends and extended family
