It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, George Jesse Burton age 74 years of Greenspond. Predeceased by parents; Robert and Maggie, son; Jeffrey, daughter; Lillian, father-in-law; Raymond Burry and mother-in-law; Catherine Burry, brothers; Isaac (Gertrude), Robert, Cluney, sisters; Beatrice (William), Mary (Roy), Lillian (Thomas), brothers-in-law; Lawrence Wornell and Lloyd Hawkins. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife; Edna, son; George (Kimberley) of Greenspond, daughters; Averil (David Maher) of Greenspond, Amy (Paul Wheeler) of Gander, brothers; Darius (Bernice), Arthur (Carol), Boyd (Rexine) all of Greenspond, sisters; Anna Hawkins of Badger's Quay, Averil Wornell of Greenspond, sisters-in-law; Nina Burton, Ethel Burton both of Greenspond, grandchildren; Brittany (Dale), Andrew, Christopher, Brady, Claire and a large circle of other relatives and many friends.
Resting at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove from where the funeral service will take place on Sunday, August 19, at 2 P.M. with Majors Robert and Cassie Kean officiating. Interment will follow at the Interfaith Cemetery, Shamblers Cove, Greenspond. As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in George's memory to The Burton Family.
