It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of ERNEST MARSHALL ROGERS, who left us
on July 20, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born on August 30,1936 at Paul's Island, Newfoundland. ERNEST was a devoted husband to his
wife of 67 years, TRYPHENA DORIS ROGERS and a loving father to sons; CYRIL GUY ROGERS,
ALONZO BRUCE ROGERS and daughter COLEEN JOYCE ROGERS.
His strength, both physical and moral was a guiding light for our family. He taught us the
importance of hard work, perseverance and integrity. He will be remembered for his unwavering
support of, dedication to, and undying love for his immediate and extended family, his ability to
have his presence felt and heard in any room, through his powerful voice and his dedication to his
community through a lifetime of volunteer work within community organizations.
Leaving to morn, is wife TRYPHENA DORIS ROGERS, sons, CYRIL GUY ROGERS (TRUDY), ALONZO
BRUCE ROGERS (JUDY) and daughter COLEEN JOYCE ROGERS (ROSS), Grandchildren, Blair Rogers
(Sebile), Vanessa Rogers (Matt), Stephanie Davies (Brad), Stephen Rogers (Ashley), Mitchell Rogers
(Christie), Jared Rogers (Emily), Great Grandchildren Channell, Cailin, Jonas, Brianna, Ava and
Mila, Siblings - Clyde Rogers (Doreen), Earl Rogers (Alfreda), Malcolm Rogers (Sarah), Kevin Rogers
(Sueann), Marie Wiseman (Chesley), Selina Bourne (Charlie - deceased), Glenys Brown (Junior),
Madeline Brown (Martin), Madonna Stewart (Iain), In-laws June Drover (Ralph), Laverne Colbourne
(Ralph - deceased), Llewelyn Allingham (Thelma), and Grace Cole (Harold – deceased), Madonna Rogers and a large
circle of nephews, nieces, and close friends.
Predeceased by his father, Reginald Rogers and mother, Ellen Jane Rogers, brother Leslie Rogers,
brothers & sisters-in-law, Thomas Allingham, Horace Allingham (Hazel), Edgar Hallingham (survived
by Elsie), Basil Allingham (survived by Irene), Stedman Allingham (Marjorie), Alma Stride (Gilbert),
Drucella Fields (Frank), and Olive Saunders (Fred).
Resting at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Trinity, Bonavista Bay with visitation on Tuesday, July 22,2025 at 7 P.M. - 8 P.M. (Immediate Family only) & 8 P.M. - 9 P.M. Public
Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 2 P.M. - 4 P.M. ( Public ) 7 P.M. - 8 P.M. (Family Service) 8 P.M. - 9P.M. (Public)
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24th, 2025, at 2pm at St. Alban's Anglican Church, Trinity, Bonavista Bay with Rev. Maxine Abbott officiating.
Interment will follow at St. Alban's Anglican Cemetery, Trinity, B. Bay.
As an expression of sympathy and In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Alban's Anglican Church, Trinity, Bonavista Bay, NL
