It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear loved one on Friday, January 27, 2017 at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Ernest Walter Janes age 70 years of Badger's Quay.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary Hiscock Janes; parents Charles and Elizabeth Janes; grandson Andrew Burry; brother Vaughan Janes; sisters Frances Trask(William) and Jean Parsons(Thomas); sister-in-law Jane Janes. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his son Ernie(Janice) of Badger's Quay; daughters Connie(Shawn Burry) of Pool's Island, Lorrieann(Terry Street) of Paradise, Angela(Gregory Burry) of Foxtrap and Sharon(Floyd Murphy) of Wesleyville; brothers Charlie(Daphne) of Badger's Quay, Tom(Marie) of Badger's Quay, Terry(Annette) of Glovertown, Fred(Sylvia) of Badger's Quay and Aubrey of Badger's Quay; sisters Olive(Junior Whidden) of Corner Brook and Helena(Gerald Fifield) of Corner Brook; sister-in-law Vida Janes of Wesleyville; grandchildren Charlene Burry, Scott Burry(Erica), Bradley Janes(Kayla), Jessica Janes(Brandon), Brandon Street, Chloe Street, Sara Burry, Alexis Burry, Dawson Gill and Claire Gill; great-grandchildren Gavin Hoyles, Blake Noseworthy, Tierra Burry and Isaac Janes; and a large circle of other relatives and many friends.


Resting at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove. Funeral service to take place at The Salvation Army Citadel, New-Wes-Valley on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 2 p.m. with Captains Roxanne and Osbourne Randell officiating. Interment to follow at The Salvation Army Cemetery, New-Wes-Valley. As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the family and a decision of monetary disbursements will be made later.
