Passed peacefully away at home into the presence of his Lord on October 13, 2020, Elmore Stokes of Deadman's Bay aged 85. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and an affectionate brother and uncle and a friend to many.

Predeceased by his daughter Vera Jane, parents Samuel and Gladys Stokes, sisters Maude, Annie, and brothers James and Wallace.

Leaving to fondly remember him, his wife Ruby (Chaulk) whom he was happily married for 66 years; his daughter Kerry-Lynn (Wade Waterman), 2 grandchildren Danielle and Brandon and sister Verna (Winston Hayward). Also leaving to mourn are many extended family and friends in the community that were like family to him.

Elmore came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour on November 2, 1968 through the words of Isaiah 53:4, But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him: and with his stripes we are healed . The family is comforted with the assurance that he is now at home with his Lord.

The family would like to express special heartfelt thanks to the staff at Dr. Y.K.Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre over the last month. Also special thanks to the many family and friends that visited him, brought him many of his favorite meals and called him in the last few months.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 2pm at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove, and burial will follow at the Gospel Hall Cemetery in Deadman's Bay, following Covid-19 guidelines.

As an expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of The Stokes Family to Dr. Y.K.Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre.

Due to COVID restrictions and recommendations; visitation, funeral and burial services will be by invitation only.
