It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of their loved one at the Health Science Centre, St. John's on Friday, August 21, 2020, Elizabeth Betty Winsor age 77 years.
Predeceased
by
her parents Elijah and Lillian Stokes,
her brother Eric Stokes, father-in-law Cyril Winsor and brother-in-law Oliver Barefoot.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories
are
her loving husband Wallace, her son Dean (Kathy), her daughter Lisa (Cyril) and her precious grandchildren Jana (Matthew), Evan and Rebecca. In addition, Betty leaves to mourn
her brother Josiah (Sophie),
her sister Beverly (Garland),
her sister-in-law Leah, mother-in-law Zena, brothers-in-law, Eric (Beverley) and
Verle
(Tina) and sister-in-law Sandra along with
a
large
number of special nieces and nephews and a
tight circle of
family and friends.
Betty was a wonderful wife, mom and nan who left her family with a lifetime of beautiful memories. " Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same. But as God calls us one by one the chain will link again "
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff at James Paton Memorial Regional Health Centre and the Health Sciences Centre for the care and compassion provided to Betty during her hospitalization. Betty commented to her nurses, "they will receive their wings because they were angels."
In Betty's memory and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Lung Association.
To fulfill Betty's wishes, cremation has taken place. Due to the recent advisory regarding the Covid-19, there will be no public visitation. A private funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 26 th, 2020 at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove with Rev. Lorne Bungay officiating. We appreciate your support at this difficult time.
