It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one at Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay, NL on Thursday, April 9, 2026 Edward John Sturge age 77 years of Wesleyville.

Predeceased by his parents Job and Winnie Sturge; brothers in-law Hubert Sturge, Malcolm Parsons and Barry Donovan; niece Lorraine Miller; nephew Brad Parsons; and great- nephew Zachary Knee.

Edward (Eb) was born in Wesleyville on September 20, 1948 to Job and Winnie Sturge.

Born with an instinctive ability for carpentry, he chose that to be his life long career, working in St. John's. He later moved back to his hometown to continue his work, where he retired. Edward took up residence at Bonnews Lodge in 2019.

Forever remembered by his daughter Tanya Crocker of St. John's; siblings Winnifred Sturge of Wesleyville, Joyce Donovan of St. John's, Cluny Sturge (Winnie) of Wesleyville, George 'Junior" Sturge of Paradise, Mottie Parsons of Wesleyville, Lloyd Sturge of Wesleyville, Brian Sturge (Beverley) of Torbay, Barry Sturge of Wesleyville, Geneva Knee (Clyde) of Badger's Quay, Randy Sturge (Rhonda) of Wesleyville and Glenda Sturge (Charlie Foote) of Calgary, AB.; many nieces and nephews; and a large circle of other relatives and many friends.

At families request cremation has taken place.

Funeral service will be held at The Salvation Army Citadel, New-Wes-Valley on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 2 p.m. with Majors Tony and Patricia Kennedy officiating. Inurnment to follow at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Wesleyville.

As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers donations in Edward's memory may be made to The Sturge Family and a decision on monetary disbursements will be made at a later date.
