It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield, Edith Stokes age 90 years of Pound Cove.

Predeceased by Husband Martin Stokes; Son David Stokes; Parents Martha and Ebert Goodyear; and Brother Samuel Goodyear.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her daughter Daphne Hounsell (Winston) of Pound Cove, with whom she resided; Sons, Baxter of Valleyfield, Ross of Centreville, George (Beverley) of Brookfield, Garland (Beverly) of St. John's, Daughter in law Bride Stokes of St. John's. Sister Myra Hounsell of Valleyfield, Brother Charles Goodyear (Millie) of Lumsden, Sisters in law Iola Goodyear of Lumsden, Evelyn Mullett of Bay Roberts. Grandchildren Jessica ( Mark), Jalen (Caroline), Jade (Dawson), Mitchell (Tiffany), Micaela  (Jamie), Trina (Rocky), Sandy (Jackie), Ellis, Courtney (Morgan), Cavell (Wade), Bradley (Amanda), David, Michael (Joseph), Erica (Greg), Great grandchildren, Kendra, Benjamin, Ivy Jade, Martin, Maverick, Rosalie, Emily, James, Jamey, Jake,  Charis, Rian, Brody ,Brooklyn, Tanner, Isabelle; and a large circle of other family and friends.

Visitation will take place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove, beginning on

Saturday, 1pm - 2pm (Family only) & 2pm - 4pm (Public) & 7pm - 9pm

Sunday, 2pm - 4pm & 7pm - 9pm

Funeral service will take place on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 2pm at the United Church, Valleyfield with Rev. L. Daka officiating, assisted by Rev. G. Kean. Interment will follow from the United Church cemetery, Valleyfield.

As an expression of sympathy, flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the Arthritis Society or the Cancer Society.
