Donald Hedley
Cutler
February 5, 1941 – December 3, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, Donald Hedley Cutler age 84 years of Centreville.
Don was born February 5, 1941, on Fair Island, the son of Aubrey and Sylvia Cutler (nee Brown).
He moved to Centreville with his family at the age of 19, as part of resettlement. There he met the love of his life, Rose, his loving and devoted wife of 61 years.
Don was a quiet, gentle man. He was a man of many passions and was always doing something. He could usually be found in the great outdoors either hunting, fishing, cutting wood, gardening, or enjoying his cabin out the bay. He was a big sports fan, especially hockey and baseball, cheering Toronto all the way. He had a great love for dogs, especially Labrador retrievers, and had many throughout his life. He loved his family deeply and got much joy from spending time with them. He would light up when he saw his grandchildren and great-grandchildren right up to his final days!
Don was predeceased by his parents, his brothers: Thomas and Martin, sisters: Violet Hunt (Robert), Maude Green (Fred), and Trixie Brown (Leonard), brother-in-law: Jim Noble.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories, his wife, Rose, son: Glenn (Mahsan), daughter: Doreen Vincent (Tony), granddaughters: Jennifer (Garron) and Jessica (Daniel), great grandchildren: Marshall, Theo, Hudson and Sylvia, sister: Minnie Noble, and sisters in law: Phyllis Cutler and Anne Cutler.
Visitation will take place at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Centreville on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.
Funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11 am with Rev. Maxine Abbott officiating. Interment to follow at The Anglican Cemetery, Centreville.
As an expression of sympathy, any donations made in his memory will be donated to the Gander Cancer Centre.
