It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear loved one after a short term battle with cancer at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, Brookfield, on Monday, November 9, 2015, Darlene Dyke age 53 years of Pool's Island.
Predeceased by her father, Gordon Coles; brother, Dougie Eastman; sister, Phyllis Coles and granddaughter, Haley Legge.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her mother, Ivy Coles of Bonnews Lodge, Badger's Quay; daughters, Katherine Dyke (Blake) of Witless Bay, Jennifer Doucette (Dwayne) of London, ON; their father, husband to Darlene for 29 years and close friend for the past 4 years, Edward Dyke; brothers, Dawson Coles (Bridgette) of Lewisporte, Dean Coles (Patricia) of Mississippi, USA; sisters, Wavey Young (Ashley) of Milton, ON, Verbena John (Pasqaule) of Toronto, ON; grandchildren, Emily Legge and Rylan Waddleton, many nieces and nephews and a large circle of family and friends.
The family would like to extend thanks to the staff at Dr. Y. K. Jeon Kittiwake Health Centre, family & friends for their care and thoughtfulness. A special thank you to Darlene Hubley-Kean of Badger's Quay, a special friend who spent numerous hours by her side.
Resting at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove. Funeral service to take place on Friday, November 13, 2015 at the St. James Anglican Church, Pool's Island at 11 AM with Rev. Tim Graham officiating. Interment to follow at the St. James Anglican Cemetery, Pool's Island. As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the NICU, Janeway Children's Hospital.
