Passed away at The Cape Breton Regional Hospital in the presence of her loving friends, Daphne Marie Hopkins age 61 of Wesleyville, NL. Daphne was a Girl Guide Leader, camp leader, secretary/treasurer for the Home League; but most important she was a soldier of The Salvation Army. Daphne was kind and generous, loved poetry and wrote numerous poems for family and friends. She was known for her beautiful handmade gifts; she was also an avid animal lover.
Daphne is predeceased by her parents Barbara and Eric Hopkins; grandparents Lydia and Ross Sturge, Mabel and Andrew Hopkins; She leaves to mourn her fiancé Louis Hibbert; her aunt Bernice(Wilson) Edison; special cousins Sophie Stokes, Irene Andrews and Eliza Jordan; as well as many other cousins and close friends.
Visitation will take place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove on Thursday, November 22nd from 7:30 - 9:30 pm with family service at 9:00 pm.
Cremation has taken place. Service for the celebration of Daphne's life will be held at The Salvation Army, New-Wes-Valley Corps on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 2 p.m. with Major's Osborne and Roxanne Randell officiating.
As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers donations in Daphne's memory may be made to the family.
Daphne will be missed by all who knew her.
