Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Clyde Sturge of Newtown, originally of Pound Cove, announce his passing at James Paton Memorial Hospital on April 20, 2022 at the age of 70.

There are so many things that we could write about Clyde but one thing that stands out for certain was his heart of gold and love for his family. They surrounded his bedside as he took his last breath.

Clyde was pre-deceased by his son Ryan, parents Edgar and Amelia Sturge, mother-in-law and father-in-law Millicent and Archibald Blackmore, and sister-in-law Betty.

He is survived and will be dearly missed by wife Rosalind (née Blackmore), two children, Sheldon (Heather), and Shelley (Cale), three grandchildren, Pop's boy Nicholas, Poppy's big girl Morgan, and Poppy's little girl Avery. Brothers, Harold (Mabel), Arthur, Sisters Brenda (Larry Parsons), Margaret (Dan Stokes), and Emma. Brother-in-law Baxter Blackmore (Geraldine), sisters-in-law Eleanor (Wallace Kean), Roma (Charles Norris), Heather (Barry Tucker) and large number of nieces and nephews who he very much loved and treasured.

PRIVATE FAMILY FUNERAL SERVICE, BY INVITATION ONLY will take place on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 11 A.M. at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Newtown with Rev. Renee Easton officiating.

As an expression of sympathy flowers are gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Clyde's memory to The Sturge family, they will decide on monetary disbursements at a later date.

Visitation will take place at Kittiwake Funeral Home, Pound Cove on Friday, April 22, 2022  at  2 P.M. - 4 P.M. (Family only)

Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 2 P.M. - 4 P.M (Public) and 7 P.M. - 9 P.M. (Public), Sunday, April 24, 2022  2 P.M - 4 P.M.  and 7 P.M. - 9 P.M. (Public)
